Kolkata Airport: After the completion of the process of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ reaching the coast of Odisha, officials have informed that operations were restored at Kolkata Airport in West Bengal from 8 am on Friday (25 October). Train services were restored at 10 am on the southern section of Sealdah division of Eastern Railway.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport authorities in Kolkata had suspended operational services from Thursday (October 24) evening as a precautionary measure in view of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’. Airport Authority of India (AAI) spokesperson said that today the first flight left Kolkata at 8.40 am. He told that the aircraft of the aviation company ‘Indigo’ took the first flight from here on the Kolkata-Imphal route.

Meanwhile, a railway official said that train services in the south section of Sealdah division were restored from 10 am and the first train to pass through the section was Sonarpur local. He said that gradually more services will be restored during the day.

Light rain continues in Jharkhand also
After the approach of severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’ was completed on Friday morning, parts of southern West Bengal received heavy rains along with strong winds. Due to the impact of cyclonic storm ‘Dana’, it rained in some parts of Jharkhand on Friday. According to the Meteorological Department, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum districts in Jharkhand’s Kolhan region have been receiving light to moderate rain since Thursday night, while other parts of the state are experiencing cloudy sky and intermittent drizzle. .
